This film tells the story of Sharissa, a woman with autism, who spent her childhood with labels of 'pervasive developmental disorder' and 'severe mental retardation', based on an IQ of 24 tested at age 4 and of 10 when tested again at age of 12.   Here she shares her incredible journey beginning with her introduction to facilitatated communication at 13 to independent typing by 16, going on to graduate college with honors and build a successful professional life as a consultant, speaker, and presenter.  This film tells Sharissa's story while providing good instructional information for facilitated communication practice.
